Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British American artist and a sitarist, is most well-known for her music. She was the first woman of her generation to receive an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She's a child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982, and the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. At the age of 13 the first time she performed in New Delhi took place. She graduated in 1999 from her high school education in Encinitas CA. Anouskha even though she is just an teen, has enjoyed an impressive recording and performing career. Since quite some time, she performs regularly alongside her father. She released her first solo album Anourag in 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's played in many important venues across the world. Her career extends beyond music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played as a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she will continue to do many great things in the near future. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of time between London and Delhi throughout her childhood. Later, she moved to California to finish high school. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 she made her debut performing the sitar in front of an audience four years following her nine-year-old father. Anoushka had the opportunity to acquire numerous valuable experience by accompanying her dad during his worldwide tour. This included performing in Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals in addition to making recordings together with George Harrison. In recognition of being an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
